Frequently asked questions

  • What is Music Taste Atlas?

    A map of your Last.fm listening β€” it shows which countries your favorite artists come from and how your taste spans the globe.

  • How do I get started?

    Sync a Last.fm username, then explore artists, countries, and listeners. No account needed.

  • Is my data private?

    Only public Last.fm scrobble data is used. Nothing is shared beyond what your Last.fm profile already exposes.

  • How the country of artist is determined?

    The most important: Admin manual set. Then MusicBrainz and Wikidata. Last.fm most popular tag is used as a fallback. You can also propose a country for an artist.

  • How corner cases are handled?

    Multiple artists with the same name: If one is super-popular, it will be used; otherwise - marked as Unknown. Artist born in historical country: Both current and historical countries are used. UK Artists: If artist is marked as England, Wales [etc.] - parent country UK is automatically assigned. Multiple countries: Artist can have multiple countries (no limit).

  • Can I sync another account?

    Yes, you can sync another account by clicking the 'Sync' for a different username. You can sync as many accounts as you want.

  • Can I delete my account?

    Yes, you can delete your account -> Just contact me.

  • What's on the roadmap?

  • Is the site free? How can I support the project?
